Welcome to the home page of
Mrs. Kinde's 1st Grade Classroom
at Loring Community School

About Mrs. Kinde:

My name is Linda Kinde and I have taught for thirty-seven years, starting my career in Texas. I have been at Loring since 1991. I'm so excited for the 2016-2017 school year!

I was born and raised in south Texas. I met my husband in Texas, but we eventually moved here, which is where he is from. We have two grown sons, one lives in Texas and the other lives  in Minnesota. I have ten grandchildren ranging in ages from 2 1/2 years to almost sixteen years old.

I love to teach and love children. My philosophy is that everyone can learn and I expect all my students to learn. I believe everyone's culture is important and that we need to respect and learn from the different cultures. I believe our classroom is a small community within the larger community of Loring. We talk about how our class is like a family, and we work together to support each other. Everyone has the opportunity to learn and grow at  their own pace, and they are all exposed to the first grade curriculum that meets the national, state, and district standards. I expect my students to respect each other as well as all the adults in the  building. You can contact me at my school e-mail at Linda.Kinde@mpls.k12.mn.us, call the school at 612.668-2060, or send me a note by your child.

For enjoyment in my spare time I love to curl up with a good book and travel. We do our traveling by motorcycle. We have been to New Orleans, Louisiana, Corpus Christi, Texas, and to other states on our motorcycle. In winter, we go snowmobiling. I also have an adorable maltese, who is  1 year old named Ruby and in December we will be getting another maltese named Missy. I am anxious to get her and am sure I will love to play with her and have her snuggle in my lap just like Ruby.
