January Workshop

Monday, January 28th 

3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 

Different lessons will be taught throughout the workshop. Participate in the after school workshop to learn more about ways to teach Kids Cook Classroom One Dozen Eggs and our Grains in the Field lessons. Come at 5:00 to help make homemade soup and review measuring lessons. Stay for supper at 6:00. After supper, discuss herbal teas and their remedies during clean up.

      • Cooking Lesson: Learn to make baked eggs
      • Integrated Lesson: Learning to count - addition, subtraction & multiplication
  • 4:00 p.m.  
    • Grains in the Field | Oatmeal Bread 
      • Cooking Lesson: Learn to make homemade bread
      • Integrated Lesson: Learn to flake oats with manual oat flaker Discuss different kinds of grain
        Honey lesson 
  • 5:00 p.m.
    • Measuring Lesson | Root Vegetable Soup with Chicken 
      • Cooking Lesson: Make homemade stock (compost stock) and roast root vegetables and chicken
      • Integrated Lesson: Measuring with fractions
        Adding costs of ingredients
  • 6:00 p.m.
    • How to Set a Table | Homemade Bread and Soup Supper
      • Integrated Lesson: Draw a table setting on paper and use for placemats 
  • 7:30 p.m.
    • Herbal Teas and their Remedies | Sage/White Cedar Tea with Lemon and Honey
      • Integrated Lesson: Natural properties of honey, ginger, garlic, cayenne and lemon.
