Welcome to Mrs. Michelle's Kindergarten Classroom

I’d like to share a bit about myself. This is my ninth year at Loring and I am looking forward to a great year of learning.  I grew up in the Victory Neighborhood and I attended Minneapolis Public Schools graduating from Patrick Henry High School.  I purchased my first house on 39th and Vincent and lived there for twenty years.  My husband Bob and myself recently moved to Robbinsdale because we needed a little more space; but I am still less than a mile from Loring.  We see many students and their families as we walk in the neighborhood, shop, or when we are at the doggie park with LuluBelle and Daisy Mae our Goldens.

I graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth with a degree in family life studies and child development.  I earned my kindergarten through sixth grade teaching license from Augsburg College. I earned my Masters of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Concordia University.

I have been teaching in Minneapolis since 1989.  This will be my 24th year of teaching at the kindergarten level.  I spent three years teaching first grade but kindergarten is my first love! My goal is that: children feel challenged, successful, and proud of their accomplishments.  I want them to look forward to coming to school everyday.   I want them to love learning and to know that it is a life long process.

Kindergarten is a big step for your child. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call me at 612-668-2060.  I check my voice mail and my email before school and before I leave at the end of the day. My email address is Michelle.Donahue@mpls.k12.mn.us. I look forward to working with you and your child.  I know we will have a great year!
