Family Involvement

PTA (Parent/Teacher Association)

We are a group of parents, families, staff, and administration committed to driving family engagement and supporting school goals through volunteering and fundraising efforts. 

Our Goals

  • Promote family involvement in the education of Loring students

  • Support school goals through projects and fundraising

  • Build and support a strong, inclusive Loring community of students, parents, families, teachers and administrators.

Join us this year! As a member you vote on budget, school enrichment programs, and teacher and specialist support. Site Council

The Loring Site Council is a group of parents, staff, and a community representative who meet monthly to deal with and give input on issues related to school operation. Site Council members are responsible for representing the interests of all Loring students, parents, and staff.  Any Loring parent or member of the community or staff is welcome to join!


Volunteering

We are excited to welcome volunteers into Loring this year!  Many volunteers are needed to tutor students, work in the media center, and help teachers with special projects.  

 All MPS volunteers (in classroom and/or activity-based) must:

1. Complete the Volunteer Application.  

2. Review the online orientation and agree to the MPS Volunteer Expectations.

3. Please fill out the volunteer background check request form.   You will receive a follow-up email with a secure link to complete your background check online within 3-5 business days.

Activity Volunteer Opportunities:

October 7th: Picture Day (help bring students to and from classrooms, regulate the picture line)
November 17th: Picture Retake Day (help bring students to and from classrooms, regulate the picture line)
December 15th: Student Showcase (make and sell popcorn)
January 13th: Movie Night in the Gym
February 17th: RC Car Racing
March 2nd: BINGO for Books
March 6-26: Read-A-Thon
June 9th: Bounce Into Summer Party


District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC)

DPAC provides two-way information between parents and the School District.
