As the Principal of Loring Elementary, my primary responsibilities are:

· Instructional Leader – This includes ensuring every Loring Scholar receives a world class IB/PYP (International Baccalaureate/Primary Years Program) and that families, teachers, students and community members feel a strong sense of belonging and connectedness to Loring, the curriculum and the staff.

· Manager of building operations – This includes hiring a diverse workforce that represents our students and community as well as financial and HR decisions. Overall general operations throughout the school.

My core values are:

· Kindness

· Compassion

· Equity

· Inclusion

I will lead with the mindset that we are all inter-connected and equity is not a choice here at Loring. Equity is at the heart of everything we do including building a diverse instructional team, seeking feedback from all stakeholders and collaborating to ensure that our curriculum truly represents all students and cultures. Students need to be able to see themselves in the staffing, curriculum and throughout the walls of Loring.

It has been my honor and privilege to serve as the principal of Loring for the past ten years. The joy of watching students and their families grow and thrive over the years has been one of the greatest gifts this role gives to me. Hearing the stories of former students and their learning adventures is a unique experience that principals who only serve a community for a short period of time don’t get to have. As someone who has lived in the Loring Community for 16+ years, I am very invested in ensuring excellence for every child who attends out school.

In closing, I want Loring to be a place where everyone feels a sense of belonging and where kids receive a world class education that prepares them for them for their future. In order to do this, we have to be willing to constantly evaluate our practices and policies that marginalize or disenfranchise individuals. I welcome and encourage feedback from all families, stakeholders and members of the community. Without that feedback we won’t know better in order to do better. Please feel free to email or call me with any questions, comments or concerns that may arise for you.
