Welcome to Loring Community School and Physical Education. I have been teaching with the Minneapolis Public School system for 31 years, with the past 22 years at Loring.
Physical Education at Loring consists of equal time
I earned a B.S. in Physical Education, DAPE, and Coaching from North Dakota University in Fargo, North Dakota. My Masters in Education was received through St. Mary's University. I enjoy, and have played sports of all varieties, for as long as I can remember and currently play in a women's hockey league. I have coached and officiated at both the high school and college level.
I’m very proud of my three children. Noah will be turning 14 in October. He is attending Fridley Middle School in the distant learning program. Noah enjoys acting in the school play and playing football. Tyler graduated from University of Oregon in 2019. He is currently working in Brooklyn Park with his business degree. Emma is attending Anoka Ramsey Community College. She is working on a degree in Nursing. Emma also has a beautiful 1 ½ year old daughter named Mila.
Loring School has a wellness committee that works with our community to support healthy living. Some of the activities the Wellness Committee is involved in are Healthy School Program, Minne-Loppet Cross Country Ski Program, School Yard Garden, Biking, Brain Breaks in the classroom and beehives.
