Bus App Information Meeting Coming Up!
Tuesday, November 20, 2018 1:00 AM

Dear Families,

Loring has been selected to participate in the field testing of Here Comes the Bus®, an innovative mobile device app and website designed to provide insight to your child’s school bus location.

Here Comes the Bus allows you to view the real-time location of your child’s school bus on your smartphone, tablet or computer. With it, you will have the information you need to send your children to the bus stop at just the right time, helping to protect them from inclement weather and other roadside dangers. What’s more, you’ll have peace of mind knowing your children haven’t missed the bus.

Here Comes the Bus enables you to:

* See the location of your child’s bus both before and after school

* Confirm that your child’s bus has arrived at the bus stop and at school

* Receive a push notification* or email message when the bus is near your stop, has been substituted, or when we have important information to relay

Here Comes the Bus is powered by Synovia Solutions™, makers of the GPS-tracking technology used by Minneapolis Public Schools to increase safety and cost savings as it relates to our school bus fleet.

Loring will host an open house on Tuesday, November 27th from 6:00-7:00 where representative from Transportation Services and IT Services will be on hand to provide additional information, help set up your account and answer questions. We hope you join us!

Here Comes The Bus currently supports primary pick up and drop off stops. There are known issues regarding stop information for students with multiple stops per day, or with different stops on different days. Work is being done to resolve this limitation, however, those issues are not expected to be resolved during this field test.

Available in three languages (English, Spanish and French), the Here Comes the Bus app can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.

Should you have any questions, please contact Katee Brown via email (katee.brown@mpls.k12.mn.us) or by phone at (612) 668-5323.
