Mr. Raidt

Hello, my name is John Raidt.  I am a K-5 Reading and Math Interventionist.  This means that I will be working with students in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade who may be struggling to keep up with their peers in their classroom.  Students I work with are identified through a process called MTSS (Multi-tiered systems of support) and will be recieving either a tier 2 or tier 3 intervention depending on their need.  Their regular classroom is considered tier 1 and tier 3 is more intensive than a tier 2 intervention.  These intervention groups are usually made up of 6 or fewer students and and meet the students at their appropriate reading and math levels.  The goal is to catch them up or to see if the student possibly has an actual learning disability.

I have been a teacher in MPS for 25 years.  The 2019/2020 school year will be my 18th year at Loring School.  I have a very diverse teaching background, having taught every grade level 1 through 5 as well as having spent years as a Title 1 Reading Resource teacher, Math Specialist, Telescoped Math teacher and now a reading and math interventionist.  I am happy to be here at Loring with a wonderful staff, supportive community and great scholars.

In addition to my role as an interventionist here at Loring, I also coordinate and lead the after school program known as ALC.  ALC is the academic portion of our after school program and its services are free to students who qualify for the services.  However, not all students qualify for ALC services, so not all students are invited to attend the ALC classes.  For those who are invited, the registration forms will go out on Wednesday, September 11th and ALC will begin the week of October 21st for students in grades 2-5 and the week of November 4th for students in K-1.
