Welcome to Mrs. Michelle's Kindergarten Classroom

Hi! I’d like to share a bit about myself. My name is Michelle Reau Donahue the children should call me Mrs. Michelle. This is my twelfth year at Loring and I am looking forward to a great year of learning. I grew up in the Victory Neighborhood and lived on the Northside most of my life. My husband Bob and myself needed a little more space so five years ago we moved to Robbinsdale.

Our house is less than a mile from Loring so we see many students and their families at the stores or when we go to the doggy park with our Golden Retrievers Lulu Belle and Daisy.  We will soon be bringing our new puppy Frannie to the park as well.  Frannie is a mini Goldendoodle.

I hope I can add a picture of her as well… she is too cute for words and looks like a stuffed animal.  Thank goodness she’s cute because she can be very naughty.  Lulu is 11 years old and Daisy just turned 6.

I attended Minneapolis Public Schools and graduated from Patrick Henry High School, (a long time ago). I graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth with a degree in family life studies and child development. I earned my kindergarten through sixth grade teaching license from Augsburg College. I earned my Master’s in Early Childhood Education from Concordia College in St. Paul along with Ms. Alm.

I have been teaching in Minneapolis

since 1989. This will be my 30th year of teaching and my 27th year of teaching at the kindergarten level. I spent three years teaching first grade but kindergarten is my first love!

My goal is that: children feel challenged, successful, and proud of their accomplishments. I want them to look forward to coming to school every day. I want them to love learning and to know that it is a lifelong process.

Kindergarten is a big step for your child. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call me at 612-668-2060. I am trying something new this year; I will be using Google voice as an additional form of communication. You will be able to text message

I can be reached at 612-668-2060. I check my voicemail and email before and after school (typically 7:40 and 3:25). My email address is: michelle.donahue@mpls.k12.mn.us.
